Tickets to this holiday spectacular are included this year in
the price of your season subscription. Our third show, the
adventurous and
groundbreaking new musical Urinetown, brings to the
stage a uniquely
satirical and ridiculously humorous look at tyranny while at the
same time
staging one of the most clever spoofs of the musical theater
art-form. It’s
sheer hilarity for the musical theater enthusiast! Spring
2008 comes quickly to TMP as we next present one of the most glorious
collections of George and Ira Gershwin’s music in the frothy and fun, My
One and Only. Both the TMP orchestra and its singers will be given
the opportunity to shine in the epic and daring Miss Saigon — the
international sensation and intensely personal story of love and sacrifice.
Finally, from the top of our annual patron survey, the worldwide musical
sensation Grease returns to TMP as our 2008 Summer Blockbuster.
This extraordinarily popular musical was presented
here more than a decade ago and that production still holds the
record for
ticket sales over all other TMP productions!
The Tacoma Children’s Musical Theater was such a huge success
with
both our audiences and performers alike that we have added more
shows
to offer our younger theater audiences. This year we have
three delightful
musicals that will entertain the whole family. Just in time
for Halloween, the
musical Annabelle Broom, the Unhappy Witch will
dance and sing across
our stage. We even have a Halloween costume party
performance planned
to add to this exciting show! Our second offering will be
the Lewis Carroll
classic, Alice in Wonderland. Don’t miss
Alice’s Mad Tea Party scheduled
before the May 24th performance. And just in time for
Father’s Day, we will
present the heartwarming story of a father’s love so great that
his wooden
puppet becomes a real little boy, Pinocchio!
We also have three theater tour opportunities planned for this
year. Of course
we will return to New York to see the best and latest on
Broadway, but we
are also planning to take a short trip to Las Vegas and one more
theater city
to be announced at a later time. These popular trips are
offered first to our
Season Patrons and then, if space allows, the general public.
