Where should I park?Free parking is available at Tacoma Musical Playhouse. We highly recommend carpooling as much as possible to all performances. TMP is fortunate to have plenty of parking available across the street in the Park-n-Ride lot. Use of this lot is FREE for patrons and will not interrupt the parking for our neighbors on the residential side streets. There are two, lit crosswalks to facilitate the safe crossing of 6th Avenue. Street Parking is available (Read the Street Signs) around the theater. TMP has a parking lot behind the Tacoma Musical Playhouse Building. Handicapped Parking is located on the west side of the building (S. MacArthur St side).

May I bring my child or grandchild to TMP performances?TMP & TMP Family Theater enjoy presenting many options for family entertainment. All children attending a production require a purchased ticket, even if the situation is such that the child spends the majority of the performance in a lap. Special pricing is available for children for all productions, however, parents are strongly encouraged to be sensible when determining the appropriateness of the subject material for their child, as well as the ability of the child to endure being seated in the theater for the length of the production. (The inability of a small child to sit in the theater for several hours can significantly impact the experience of the other patrons inside the auditorium.) TMP productions are generally suitable for ages 6 and above, however, some shows deal with mature themes and may not be appropriate for all children. TMP firmly believes that it is the parent’s responsibility to make any determination regarding the appropriateness of the subject material or physical abilities of their own child. TMP provides an interactive Behind the Curtain! at TMP preview presentations to assist parents in informing themselves about an upcoming production. Parental Guidelines are provided online for some TMP productions, as well. Ultimately TMP welcomes children ages 4 and older. Children under 4 will not be admitted. Booster seats are not available.
