Student Theater Field Trips 2021 – 2022

Due to the large number of COVID cases in Pierce County this year we have postponed Seussical the Musical TYA until the April 23 – May 1, 2022 time period. Because of this we have cancelled Shrek for this season. Therefore, there will only be one Family Theater to choose from for Field Trips.

TMP Family Theater offers special mid-week matinee performances for school groups to attend a live musical theater production.  These tickets are NOT available to the general public.  Parental volunteers that want to attend a program with their children MUST purchase tickets in advance through the school.

TMP Family Theater Matinee programs will entertain, educate and inspire young audiences.  The experience of enjoying a live stage production performed by adult and child actors is one that no child will soon forget.

Our specially priced student matinees are designed to accommodate any size student group. All student matinee tickets are $10.

Book by LYNN AHRENS and STEPHEN FLAHERTY

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

For our School Field trips this year we will require the following COVID procedures:

All students must have their temperature taken before they depart their school. The teacher must sign a roster documenting all students coming have been cleared. All adults who are accompanying the students must provide proof of vaccination. If not vaccinated they must provide documentation of a negative Covid test within 48 hrs of the performance time. Everyone must wear a mask. If these documents and ID are not available they will not be admitted.

No parents will be admitted on the day of the performance if they were not previously reserved and paid in advance. No exceptions.
