CLASSES BY AGE GROUP:

 

 

Ages 6 to 9 | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Youth Workshop: Learn how to be big and bold! We will be playing movement games and discussing the basics of Musical Theater Dance to some of your favorite Disney & radio hits! This workshop is for kids ages 6 – 9 with no dance experience needed. Please wear comfortable clothes, sneakers or dance shoes, and bring water and a small, healthy snack!

Ages 10 to 14 | 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Teen Workshop: Shake off any fears of “dance” and discover the fun of moving in character! We will learn basic Musical Theater steps that you are likely to come across in most youth or school theater productions, approached from an Actor’s perspective, and learn how to be bold on stage. This workshop is for ages 10 – 14, no dance experience needed. Please wear comfortable clothes, sneakers or dance shoes, and bring water!

 

Ages 15+ | 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Adult Workshop: Stand out and nail the audition! We will review basic Musical Theater steps and learn methods to feel comfortable and confident in any dance or movement audition. This workshop is intended for performers age 15+ with basic movement experience and a desire to learn and grow. Please prepare for this as if it were an audition: wear comfortable clothes, dance shoes, and bring plenty of water.

RICO LASTRAPES BIO
Rico Lastrapes is a Seattle based actor who moved to Washington in 2016 after receiving his BFA in Acting from the University of Central Florida. He was featured as Race in Village Theatre’s production of Disney’s NEWSIES and Nibbles in The 5th Avenue Theatre’s production of West Side Story. He toured the United States co-hosting SeaWorld Kid’s Generation Nature LIVE with Bindi Irwin, spent a summer in Chillicothe, OH, riding horses and swinging war clubs as Kitate in Tecumseh! Outdoor Drama danced and played the saxophone as a “Wonderer” at Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, PA and Idlewild in Ligonier, PA, tap-danced in Gyspy (Tulsa) at the Limelight Theatre in St. Augustine, FL and crossed swords with Lancelot in Camelot (Ensemble) at the Baton Rouge Little Theatre in Louisiana. Other regional credits include Godspell, Elf the Musical, In the Heights, Peter, and the Star Catcher, and The Last Stop on Market Street.

Rico has also been working as a teaching artist and choreographer. He teaches Tap at the Vashon Center for Dance and has taught classes at the Village Theatre KIDStage Everett program. He has choreographed youth theatre at Tacoma Musical Playhouse (Fiddler on the Roof Jr., Shrek Jr., Singin’ in the Rain Jr.), Tacoma Little Theatre (Legally Blonde Jr., Mulan Jr., Mary Poppins Jr.), and Spanaway Lake High School (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Legally Blonde) and professional productions in throughout the Puget Sound.
